Dandenong North is a postwar residential suburb situated 27 kilometers southeast of Melbourne's city center. Dandenong North is bounded to the north by Mulgrave, to the east by Endeavour Hills, to the south by Dandenong, and to the west by Noble Park North.
The opening of the Dandenong North primary school in David Street in 1954 was a beginning to Dandenong's development to the north. However, David Street is no longer part of Dandenong North, which runs north from Police Road to Heatherton Road. Its eastern boundary is the Dandenong Creek, while its western limit is an ungrounded line that passes by St. Elizabeth's Catholic primary school (west of Eastlink).
Dandenong North's landscape has changed since it was populated due to the addition of the Monash Freeway and Eastlink (2008).
