History of Bunurong Memorial Park Cemetery

The Cheltenham & Regional Cemeteries Trust founded Bunurong Memorial Park in 1995. The first burial took place on February 8th, 1996, and on August 29th, the memorial garden was formally inaugurated under the direction of Minister for Health Rob Knowles. Both the crematorium and the patio of the Pietà Mausoleum were built in 1997.

On May 12, 2012, His Eminence, Archbishop Stylianos of Australia, blessed and formally opened the church. Surrounding graves are for sale.

The Southern Aurora Centre, a function center, has modern event spaces available to honor and commemorate loved ones. It is ideal for large gatherings as it can comfortably seat up to 70 guests.
