About Chadstone

Chadstone is a residential suburb, approximately 13 km south-east of central Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is situated within the City of Monash local government area.

The southern, northern, western, and eastern boundaries of Chadstone are all bounded by Scotchmans Creek, the Glen Waverley railway line, and Warrigal Road.

History of Chadstone

Chadstone Road, which was constructed in Malvern East between 1912 and 1913, is where the suburb`s name derives from. The Chadstone church, located north of the Malvern Hills in England, is likely where the road`s name originated.

In 1953, a primary school was opened in the western subdivision as postwar development began to fill the area. By the middle of the 1950s, house building had begun in the Jordanville Housing Commission lands east of Warrigal Road.
