Notting Hill is a small residential and commercial suburb that sits 18 km south-east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, between Mount Waverley and Clayton North.

History of Notting Hill

Thomas Wilkinson, a European settler known for his connection to London`s Notting Hill, is generally recognized as the person who gave the region its name. In the late 1870s, he established a refreshment stop in Notting Hill while working as a carrier between Oakleigh and Ferntree Gully.

Notting Hill was home to numerous farms at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1920, the region was home to farms for dairy, poultry, and market gardens. The local families advocated for the construction of a school, which was eventually finished in 1927.
